Yvonne Nemett, of Cleburne, Texas, died peacefully in her home on the 15th of February, 2020. She was born in Steenwerck, France on the 3rd of October, 1922, to parents Clementine LeRoy Todd and Harold Todd.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her adopted father Eugene Nemett, her sister Clementine, her husband Louis, and her grandchildren Matthew Dias and Charles Putman.
She is survived by her children; Celeste Hobbs and husband Troy, Dan Dias and wife Mary, and Adele LaRoche, as well as grandchildren; Gerald, Michael and Marshall Dias, Alice Morrow, Glenna Bell, Shirley Reagor, Preston and Walter Hobbs, their respective spouses, and many great-grandchildren.
Yvonne met her husband, Louis Dias, in New Orleans where she was working as a waitress. They eloped to Marion, Arkansas and were married on the 21st of December, 1944. She had many careers in her lifetime, the most notable being a licensed nurse, telephone switchboard operator, and a licensed private-plane pilot.
Yvonne was an active member of The Church of the Holy Comforter and a member of the Daughters of the King. She loved reading, playing cards, puzzles, and looking at the foliage during the fall. She achieved a long and accomplished life and she left surrounded by love.
Funeral services will be conducted at The Church of the Holy Comforter on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. Reverend Robert Gresser will officiate. Private family burial services will follow at Southland Memorial Park in Grand Prairie, Texas. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Sunday at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.
